Canvas of experiences
Who am I? As the years pass, sometimes I wonder what makes me feel, me. All I know is that I try hard everyday and experiences I've had throughout my life, from problems to challenges. My life is like a painting, a mysterious and weird painting but behind that, there's something amazing, which is its story. Imagine seeing this mysterious painting and knowing its story, you can say that the painting also has a dark side behind that weird but attractive masterpiece.
I was named after my two grandmothers that I adore, I always call them nanang or just lola. When I was young I was a kid full of curiosity and happiness, who always find something interesting. My childhood was the best experience I’ll ever had. A kid who was always cheerful and enjoying his childhood is now a young man. One of the things I always do when my time is free I just paint or play games at my phone or even help out at the house.
When my father returns home from his travels abroad, we often take the opportunity to visit our family farm. It's a serene place. We check on our plants, admiring the way they've grown since our last visit, while my father shares stories about each crop’s journey from planting to harvest. Afterward, we make plans to travel to Ilocos Norte, where my grandparents live. The drive is filled with excitement and chatter, as we anticipate the warm hugs and welcoming smiles that await us. Once we arrive, the air is filled with the comforting aroma of my grandmother's cooking, and we gather around the table, sharing stories and laughter.
Sadly when my grandfather died, I slowly realized that life is hard and short. His absence remind me how fragile our existence truly is. I remembered the stories he shared, the laughter we had, and the wise lessons he instilled in me. Each memory felt like a treasure, but I also felt the weight of time slipping away.
I began to understand that life is filled with challenges, struggles that test our resolve and moments that can change everything in an instant. I realized that every day is a gift, and we should cherish each moment with loved ones. The experience taught me the importance of resilience and gratitude, pushing me to pursue my dreams. Life may be hard and short, but it's also beautiful, filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.
